12USD just to sign up Astromart

I tried to register an account with astromart, but they want to charge me a 1 time registration fee of 12USD to open the account. (New rule implemented from Dec 2006)

I heard from some members in here that they are restructuring astromart from the other thread?

Is it worth to pay for the account?

Probably only if you intend to buy or sell a lot. Does it apply to new accounts or to existing ones as well?

Is it only onetime payment or a recurring yearly fee? Sorry didnt had time to go through the T&C personally :-)

it is a one time payment. Not sure if it applies to existing accounts because i don't have any to start with

Perhaps you can buy/sell stuff through some singastroian with good astromart ratings instead of paying the USD12 and go through the tough process of gaining good ratings.

i see.. actually i'm interested to see what are the prices that ppl at astromart are selling.. prices/details of the items are hidden from non-members. Not selling or buying anything yet.

If you want a free site, go to Cloudynights shop & swap or classifieds section. Much smaller than AM, but free.
