Anyone of you used such equipment before?

It has remote sensors to sense the humidity, temperature and pressure and gives forecast of the weather. Useful?

I know that in Singapore, the weather is very fickle. Most times, I would check the Nowcast (Singapore 3h weather update) before deciding if I should bring out my scope. It is not that accurate as most times it says Partly Cloudy for hours when it is actually cloudy.

it can tell if it is going to rain (when air pressure drop) but can't tell you is the sky clear or cloud are coming.

Hi,

When I was sailing across the Pacific Ocean some time ago, this equipment is important to check pressure changes while sailing and of cause, we also verify it with weather reports. The high and low pressure will indicate if an storm is heading our way. It is accurate in that environment but not sure if it is accurate to use it in a small area like Singapore where the weather is hard to predict, high/low pressure is marginal.

A particular Casio watch model also has such function plus a digital compass and altitude meter.

Like River mentioned no rain <> no cloud or clear sky

Yup! I use that watch - the ProTrek Triple Sensor. It gives a good idea of the atm pressure, altitude and temperature. We even used it once in Mersing to predict if the weather would turn out good. In the end it worked!

I see. Thanks for the replies. So I guess it is not that useful since the importance is to know if there will be cloudy skies and not rainy skies.
