A couple of questions about eyepieces...

For people new to astronomy who want to ask those questions that they were afraid to ask. Receive helpful answers here.

Wow. I never expected so many wonderful replies. Thanks everyone!

Ok, now I think I understand the reason she wasn't impressed may be due to her near sightedness, meaning that when she saw it, it probably wasn't focused..
Or maybe it looked too small because I used a rather low magnification of 75x because I only had 1 eyepiece.

I was never impressed with Venus myself. I can see its disk and its phase, but thats about it. I saw it when its phase was 84%. When will it look most impressive? I agree that the moon looks the best.. but it wasn't out that night.

Thanks for answering all my questions about eyepieces. I would add it to the Singastro Wiki, but I just don't know how to.

On a sidenote, how do you quote another poster?

Press the upper right corner button, on the same line as (Posted: date..) that states "quote". :)
