First attempt on Saturn with my ETX125

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

First attempt on Saturn with my ETX125

Post by jiahao1986 »

Hi folks,

Just now during my school club's night observation, I managed to obtain a stacked image of Saturn with my newly purchased Philips ToUcam Pro 840K and my trusty ETX125 PE.

Seeing condition is not very good, however, the achieved image is fairly close to the best visual image I can get from the scope. Hope you folks can give some suggestions on improving this image :D

Image was processed with Registax 4.0 and Photoshop CS2

Just did some more processing with the image, have updated it

Play around with the sharpness controls in Registax. I'm quite sure you can make the rings even clearer to see.

Thanks guys. I did do some sharpness ajustments using Registax, and if I sharpen more, the image looks quite unnatural, just not my taste

Good job man! Maybe this seeing condition is common in Singapore?
Clear skies,
Robin.
