Hi all,
There will be a Mersing expedition this coming May (juicy Milky Way season). This trip would be catered specially for newbies, but seasoned 'hardcores' are most welcomed as well. There will be nightly stargazing sessions plus sky tours, and also a day event schedule lined up with short talks/dialogue sessions. It will be a 3D2N with departure from Singapore on the 18th May, and ending on the 20th (back in Singapore in the evening). This would be a value added trip that would strive to offer a greater educational (astronomical) experience for new comers into astronomy or even intermediates. The package would include accomodation at the nearby kampung styled resort with stargazing at the popular Mersing site that SINGASTRO members frequent, most meals, and two-way transport.
Targetted quota would be about 30 though we would expect normally less than that in lieu of limited accomodation.
The tentative agenda for the expedition would include:
1) Evening Sky Tours
2) Assorted introductory talks on practical astronomy
3) Solar observations
4) Flea Market Equipment Sale
5) Hiking trips for nature lovers (on demand basis)
Tentative package price (3D2N): SGD$130
Interested participants please leave your name, contact details to remuscj@yahoo.com plus choice of package and astronomy equipment declaration details.

Good package, Remus.
You can plan this as a regular session if there is demand. I'm sure it will raise publicity and the profile of SingAstro, taking it to greater heights.
Unfortunate for me, I will be bogged down by work during that period, so I may have to give this a miss again. Join you guys other days when I am free.
Cheers!

Latest update: The mode of transport for this expedition is via [glow=red]air-conditioned 45 seater coach[/glow]!
All meals are provided except for the meal when we stop over at Mersing Town for supplies before heading to the observing site. There are shower and toilet admenities at the resort. From previous past feedback, we will tell the resort to cut down on their spice level, unless upon special request.
