Anybody wants the Nexstar SE mount and tripod?

Thinking of getting the Nexstar 8 SE for the OTA only. So if anyone of you wants the skyalign mount and tripod, maybe we can co-share the purchase.

Note that the mount for the 8SE is more robust and more heavy-duty than the 5SE and below. It is not the same mount.

Let me know if anyone interested.

I received afew enquiries on how to co-share this thing.

Basically the price of the new scope is USD$1399. The price of the OTA (based on OTA prices) is around USD$950. So I would price the mount and tripod at USD$450, which is pretty good considering you get a heavy duty, fully GOTO with skyalign technology. You can even upgrade it with a GPS next time with ANY scopes that could fit into that mount. This mount is also user ugradable. BTW, I have an SLT mount which uses the Skyalign tech. and I can honestly tell you that the GOTO from skyalign is amazingly accurate even on a low end mount like the SLT ones.

If anyone willing to take this up, we can share the shipping.

As to why I don't just buy the OTA alone, that's because I want one with an orange colour to match my orange WO 66 SD.

Wow US$450 is a good deal for the tripod and goto mount. Someone grab it quick before I give in to temptation!

As I have said, I don't mind taking the mount if I can find someone to buy my N8 one (for a lower cost of course) once I can determine my scope can fit the new frame. Anyone interested in buying an N8 goto mount plus tripod for $350 please let me know. Will do the study if there is an interested buyer.

Its the classic Nexstar 8 mount. First generation. The controller cannot be upgraded with flash updates but for most purposes, the mount and goto is ok.
I have been looking to upgrade to the skyalign plus buy the GPS option too from the newer Nexstar. if someone is willing to buy my old goto mount (less the 8" C8 OTA), I will pop by Vincent's place to check if my scope can be retrofitted on the N8SE mount. If yes, then we can have a 3-person deal....

hahaha interesting proposal, I have offer Vin for other type of combination, may be we should all meet up and decide what is the best option for all of us.

I am planning to bring back a Nexstar 6" from US end of this month.

The Nexstar SE and Nexstar SLT uses the Vixen GP/CG5 dovetail slot. So if you attached a vixen GP/CG5 dovetail onto your N8, then you can use these mounts.

I'm also one of them that contacted vincent on the SE mount, I can confirm taking it if no one else does and willing to put a deposit.
