Anybody wants the Nexstar SE mount and tripod?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

yeah..it's the same mount..so for mounting smaller scopes, it's a great deal...damping time for high mag around 200 x is about 1 second for a tap on the tripod..

however, users gotta note that the clearance can be an issue with long scopes esp. refractors...from the base of the 6inch SCT to the top of the GOTO mount cover, there is an allowance of around 14 cm when the SCT is shifted to the maximum forward position on the dovetail clamp..

Hi,
Thinking of getting the Nexstar 8 SE for the OTA only.
Just wondering why didn't you just get a C8 XLT OTA for CG5 dovetail instead?? Is the OTA from an NexStar 8SE better than the normal C8 XLT OTA??

Have a nice day.

The XLT ota is black, the 8 SE is a nice orange/copper colour.
