THanks Airconvent! I love it too! I have had so much pleasure in using it regularly now. It is my little relax, escape and explore the universe-home away from home. Even though it is still at home.

Nice observatory. Have you ever tried the LesveDome driver? It would be another interesting project for dome automation.

No mate, I havent tried that. I was going to go auto, but when I got the crank mech worked out, it is now so easy I dont need to auto.

One day I was thinking I could fully auto the lot and synchronise the dome with the gps scope. Then I could lease time on the internet for students and researchers to book my scope live over the internet!

wow..you are thinking big...very soon you will have a row of domes in your backyard (maybe need to buy off your neighbours lawns too!) :lol:
So have you put in any productive hours in the dome yet...eg scouring for a comet that will bear your name? :wink:

Actually I have been in there for a few hours tonight. I'm just waiting for the camera battery to charege up again before I head back out there......
