Post by mrngbss »

Saw this ad on Astromart.

1. What does he mean by the last sentence, "only for different drive motors"
2. Can these be used on the SXW and SXD mounts?
3. What are the main differences between 2.06 and 2.10?

thanks.

I think the 2.10 version can be connected to a PC. The 2.06 version cannot.

I don't think this can be use for Sphinx mounts.

The Skysensor is great.....it actually allows you to polar align even without seeing the pole star! It can be use in alt-azi mode. Simply find your 3 alignment stars using that mode, GOTO a star, switch to eq mode and then watch the mount slew away from that star. Then just have to adjust your mount azimuth knobs and alt. lever to bring that star back to centre. Voila!, your scope is polar aligned!

Yes, I admit I always use this lazy man's way of doing polar alignment.

I think "different drive motors" means MT-3 or MT-4 motors. Not sure also. Mine is version 2.10 and is MT-4 motors.

May be you can look at SS2K yahoo group for some information.
See extract from SS2K.
