Yeah....must thank Cliff for organising this. Enjoyed attending my first outing with you guys.

May wanna join you guys next time in Mersing. But for now, I'll be hunting for a 2X barlow. My 102mm can't see much things as compared to some of your scopes.

Too bad the moon only came up at about 2am. Took some photos of it till 4am. Wished it was there earlier so that I can see it up close with some of the more powerful scopes.

Luckily next month got 0.5 month bonus plus $220 :-) So, that will help to defray some of my purchases.....

Ray, you need to wear sunglasses to look at moon in those powerful scopes. :P

Yea, you need sunglasses, or you could stand 5m away from the scope and look through the eyepieces :P lol

Yesterday was a great turnout. So many new people or people I haven't met before, that i probably don't remember you guys still, what more in the dark. But definitely an enjoyable time. Next week Clifford isn't available and I am helping in Astrochallenge, so unless another volunteer steps up, we can't get Turf City..

But I think all are free to come NTU to join the Astrochallenge as there is public ob there too! :)

Thanks to Clifford for organizing the session :D

I have been to both the open field and car park site at Turf City. Prefer the car park site as it is easier to drive there, can set up scope just next to car and larger open space. Hope future sessions will be held there :)

Hi,
WOW... some many people go there... must be fun. :D :D

The weather also quite good in Tampines... the sky will be very clear if not the very humid atmosphere... Not much high altitude cloud as I thought it's there initially... just that the water vapour in the air reflecting the light pollution causing the stars to look dim. The dimmest star I manage to see at the zenith was around magnitude 4.5... not that bad after all.

Anyway, the weather was very humid (94% humidity at mid-night) and the exterior tube surface of my scope start to dew after only a hours into the session... lucky the extra dew shield I put manage to keep my secondary mirror dew free till the end... :P

By the way, now processing the M57 Ring Nebula I took this morning... Will post it if result is good.

Have a nice day.

Thanks to Clifford for organizing the event. It is nice to meet other Singastro members :)

Next time if I have the opportunity, I will bring my 12.5" with the computer. It will make finding objects way easier and faster in such skies. :)

I think at Weixing's place the sky was better though. Haa.. the East has better skies but the Turf city is rather convenient for setting up scopes since the scope can be set up beside the car. Also there is much less pesky stray light around.
