Jupiter [9th June 07]

Post by aquillae »

Hi guys,

Finally had a chance to image Jupiter again, I was 3 days late from the opposition.

It was the same side of Jupiter as my May 24th image <sigh> :P, I wanted to wait for the GRS but I called it a night since I need some rest for my first scuba dive the next day.

Here's the result:
(375 frames out of about 1200 frames) using Registax4.

Nice! You got Red Spot Junior too. These few weeks of observing Jupiter with my scope, the 2 white ovals that are beside Red Spot Junior and the trail of white ovals seems to remain in the same position. haa.

Thanks Jia Hao and Canopus.

By the way, comparing the image with my May 24th, the "right" / eastern white oval seems to have moved a bit closer. I wonder if Red Jr. will fuse with those 2 small ovals in the future :P

I finally had a chance to observe/image GRS last night, it's really cool to see the it again. I wonder what's going on on the equator area below the GRS.

here's the combination of the pics

Yes...no GRS can always settle for GRS Junior!
BTW, that dot in the middle looks like a moon shadow?

Yup Rich, good thing that they're on the opposite side of each other now hehe :)

I don't think the dot is a moon shadow, there's another one to the left/west of GRS at the same belt.
