Ob @ Turf City on 6th July 07

Post by Clifford60 »

Hi Everyone,

The Turf City ob will be on again this coming Friday, 06/07/07 from 10pm to about 2~3am (07/07/07) @ Car Park Site. Hope that we can beat the last turn out of 21 people on 08/06/07. So bring along your family and friends. Hopefully we can make it a monthly star party event.

From 10pm to 11.15pm, it is more like a chatting session for all those who has "lost touch" with your fellow astro friends. I will sponsor some cup drinking water (2 dozens), nuts (3 pkts) and potato chips (3 tubes). Please don't dirty the place.

Well, those who like to start the ob early with the flood light are welcomed, otherwise, from 11.15pm onwards, it will be ob time.

As usual, we need to know the estimate headcount to inform the Turf City Management about our activities. So, PM me or just drop your name in this thread by end of Thur.

How to get there, see link below

http://www.singastro.org/viewtopic.php?t=5040

Just hope that the weather don't turn against us. Should the weather is not cooperative, we will move the ob to Sat 07/07/07, same time and place.

Hi Pete,

There will be scopes to share around, especially the big guns. So, do come by if you can find someone to solve your problem of getting there and back home.

Regards

Regrettably I cannot join in this time round as I will be at a weekend retreat. Hear that the Indonesian haze is coming back again. Hope this will not spoil the obs session for you guys.

By the way, how serious will the haze affect observations, in general?

Hmm....since Cliff is sponsoring the drinks and snacks, I guess I'll throw in about 30pcs of jumbo fish balls. Clean, no mess and most importantly, no litter.

It used to be as big as a billiard ball when it was endorsed and photographed with Taufik, but now the thing shrunk to the size of a medium-sized egg....but it is still bigger than the normal fish balls.

Let's hope the haze stays away tmr nite.
