i was wondering about the feasibility of viewing from home...
izzit possible to view the sky using a telescope by putting it on a table right next to the window???
beside being only able to view half of the sky, what are the other major disadvantages???
would be grateful for your answers.. thanks...

If you are referring to a table beside your kitchen window, you would most likely be able to view a nice 40% of the sky. I don't think you have high enough windows to view 1/2 the sky. Thats is still assuming you dont have opposite building obstruction.
Of this 40% sky , you would still be limited to a direction view . If you are lucky , probably a southern or eastern sky with lots of things to see throughout the night. Unlucky ones would be left with a northern sky where visible objects are scarce.
Lighting condition can be bad too. Any nearby light source powerful enough will cause you to lose your dark adaptation or not getting them at all. With the presence of these light source, it will be difficult for you to spot stars , let alone search for objects.
A occasional walk downstairs for observation can be fruitful and rewarding. Try it whenever you can !
