I was wondering if anyone has a cheap recticle eyepiece for sale. I would like to get one for scope alignment purposes.
Thanks and let me know.
WTB: Recticle eyepiece....
actually there is no need to buy a reticle eyepiece, it can get pretty expensive for jus an eyepiece with a reticle inside. instead, why not try to make one urself? i have made a simple reticle eyepiece and it works perfectly fine!
you should have one of those cheap high mag plossl eyepieces i guess. unscrew the bottom chrome barrel part from the eyepiece. there should be a field stop going one whole round ard the inside of the barrel.
ok, get some electrical wire, strip off the plastic, and cut out one strand of the copper wire, the thinner the wire, the better. apply 4 dabs of super glue ard the field stop such that you can stick the wire in a cross pattern. (i used double sided tape for this, but i think super glue would be just fine)
stick the wire across the field stop/chrome barrel such that you get a cross. before the glue, try to align the cross nicely in the middle and pull the wire taut with tweezers.
that's about it..you can then pop it into ur scope and take a look, shld work fine for most alignment purposes. if u wanna make it illuminated, you can run a teeny LED and super glue it along the edge of the barrel..
just my 2 cents worth...worth a try if u dun wanna spend money on a reticle eyepiece..

Hi,
Since this is a "Want To Buy" post, move this thread to "Buy and Sell" section and add a "WTB" in the subject.
Anyway, Meng Lee got one Meade 9mm Plossl Double cross-hair X-Y adjustable illuminated eyepiece for sale... it had been reserved, but never closed, so might still be available:

Hi,
Actually I meant that post to be locked as well. Anyway, the eyepiece is sold. And the interesting thing is that, I actually stick to using a crosshair eyepiece made by myself using "gluing the wire on the field stop" of my mouldy Plossl, which i cleaned vigorously.
Weixing can lock these posts for me, thanks for your help:

Hi,
Anyway, you don't need to lock all your ad in the buy and sell section here even you post the same item on sale in the AstroMart. You can just leave it until the item had been sold.
Have a nice day.
