RF Royce Dall-Kirkhams

Hi all,

RF Royce is releasing a new series of Dall-Kirkhams with true long focus design (F20) for apertures of 10 and 12.5 availble in full (for the 10) and open-tube (for the 12.5). Prices have yet to be announced but the system looks promising if one is looking for the close to ultimate scope for planetary and on-axis imaging.

This would widen the Dall-Kirkhams market and would compare interestingly from the usual Mewlon offerings from Takahashi.

I wonder how he is going to correct for the coma at the edges. Or is going from f15 to f20 fix that?

going to a higher focal ratio might help, or perhaps utilising a lower secondary magnification to improve the off-axis performance.
