haha.. friend you're good, i like you..

I do like all these equations and stuff, but i don't suppose i can use much of them in real life.. will take up network administration when i finish my 'A's and (hopefully) come out of camp(NS) alive.. maybe that as a minor i suppose.

hey! I have always been interested and wanting to take up physics which I would most probably divert the path towards astrophysics. Thats why I have withdrawn from my business course @ temasek polytechnic. They rejected me for science course. So now, I would have to serve NS and den enrol in a private school for my A'levels dennnnnn hopefully take up physics at university. But I heard some overseas universities do also take in O'levels students provided that they must have v gd results and passes certain exams to qualify..I am still considering whether it is feasible....or maybe even possible.

My question to you guys who want to study astrophysics in overseas U : what can you work as when you come back to Spore?

Think the only way for you is to stay in US and get a job there.

Unfortunately for our country, studying something that you like may not get you a job that can let you survive well here. Same with those who love music and arts. How many of them can really survive with that in Singapore?

Physics is a very general degree and it is used to prove that you have a strong understanding of things and able to work things out efficiently, astrophysics is a course whereby astronomy takes up a part of the course and not totally the entire syllabus. And it has always been my dream to seek understanding of the physical world. Maybe well, in Singapore, you could work in other sectors first, not die die also must go into the aspect of areas ur studies specialises in. But when there is some opportunities like working on a contract with NASA, you could go for it. (Thats rare though, but not impossible) And, the founder and owner of Astro Scientific holds a Masters Degree in Astronomy from University of Western Sydney, Australia. It really goes to show much your passion can takes you. Its just how you see your survival being weighed against your passion.

while its true that what you learn most from going to university my not necessarily be the content but the thought process, going into something as specific, not to mention difficult, as astrophysics would require not only great interest but strong commitment, endurance and foundation.
if you really have the interest but find that work and employment opportunities are scarce, you can always take a course in astrophysics as a minor or for credit while doing a major in something else.

and about Uni with O'levels, University of Michian - Ann Arbor does accept students from O'levels but you need good SAT scores as well. alot of singaporeans go along that path. there are about 50 of them in each year. and its a really good school too.. something like top 50 or top 25 in the country. i actually just visited it about a week ago.

Is it?...University of Michian.....Do you have their website address? I tried to find it but they kept giving me University of Michigan site address. I would possibly try take a shot at it but 50 singapore student a year makes it sound very hard. And need alot of sch fees too.
