Iridium sliced through Scorpius

hi guys, this is my 2nd Iridium shot. I finally managed to capture most of the flash (even though i missed a bit of the start).

The peak of the flash was quite a show (it was really bright).

09 Aug 18:23:24 local time (UT+7) :: ALT:66° AZ:149° (SSE) MAGNITUDE:-8 Iridium 84

Canon 350D, 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
working @ focal length = 55mm :: F ratio = 6.7:: ISO 100 :: 6 seconds exposure

WOW!! Nice shot...

By the way, it's really look like a meteor! Hmm... just wonder is there any way to differential a meteor and an iridium flare by visual??

Err... I didn't said that.

I just wonder is there any way to differential a meteor and an iridium flare by visually at the time you saw it since they look so alike. It is very exciting if you saw such a bright meteor, but iridium flares of such brightness is quite common.

Weixing,

An iridium flare should have a symmetric head and tail as the brightness increase and then decreases. A meteor should appear asymmetric - as it burns out, the brightness should drop off faster..

visually meteor is always waay faster than an iridium sat.

Just amaze!!!!!!
I like that pict too. Great!

Anyway. I did try my luck on Mon morning to capture Perseids Meteor.
Ok. I am new to the topic of Astronomy and maybe 1% of it.
However, I really enjoy looking into the sky and see the formation of the stars. I hope I have given the right terms here.
I think. I think I did see one Perseids.
I know the timing is impt. But. Still. Cos too excited. I forgot to check the time. Maybe its almost to 5am.
Its really so fast. Like in a seconds.
I think is it. I chose to believe that it is it cos my heart also stops at that seconds the moment I saw it.
I am just so happy and wish to see some more but none.

Really happy to have a 'space' here to share.
