I've noticed a bright 'star' in the sky these few days. I think it's venus, am i right?
Anyone has any ideas on which planets can be seen during which part of the year?
Which planet at which time?

A planetarium software would have been able to answer your question.
If you have a pocketpc, can also try Pocket Universe 2000 or similar software.
Presently most of he planets set early leaving Jupiter bright and outstanding in the night sky. In actual fact, Neptune and Uranus are also visible if you know where to look. Pluto is in clear view except its too faint and even if you see it, will have difficulty making it out amongst the stars.

or, you could use the free planetarium software; Stellarium 0.9.0. All other planetarium software are also equally better so it's up too you.
This software (or any other) can bring you back in time or the future, seeing eclipses, position of stars and planets. Currently, jupiter is present in the night sky; other planets such as saturn and venus, as our member said earlier is near the horizon...so why not download it...
