CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

The light rings are artifacts of processing. Don't need to worry about them. Like top planetary imager, Daimian Peach, he paints black to cover the rings.

hmm..took another photo last night, seeing was not exactly very good...but anyway, after closely looking at the photo taken on 13th and 15th..i realised that there a feature on one of jupiter's belts that has seem to move up 1 belt..

above the thick brown belt, there are 3 more finer ones above. notice that the feature on the left has moved from the 2nd to the 3rd belt..hmmm..i dun think it's some processing anomaly..doesnt look like it..but the picture's not very clear so also cannot make out anything..

any idea guys??

Hi,
Not sure which "feature" are you referring to... may be you can draw an arrow pointing at it.

Anyway, Jupiter is a gas giant planet and the "feature" on the belt are actually the "clouds" on Jupiter, so basically most of the "feature" are not permanent... just like the cloud on earth.

By the way, you Jupiter image is getting better and better... well done!! :D :D

Have a nice day.
