First time i see the Princess up so close....
I am pretty amazed though why the light from her is so diffused and we are not able to resolve any object such as globulars and such.
I think even the hubble can barely catch any detail in there.
This is unlike the LMC and SMC which are both rich is details (like the tarantula) but of course, these 2 are much nearer..

Anyway, we can still see some globulars in M31. G1, G76, G280 are all brighter than mag. 14.2, within the reach of scopes larger than 5inch. I've seen all three before, and for this Mersing trip, I and Alfred saw G1 using his C9.25. However, resolving these globulars are totally impossible for us lah, though Hubble can resolve G1...

here is an updated version on my actual website and a little flip in the composition for a more 'proper' look. There were no h-alpha data for this image yet, so not much of the HII regions can be seen in clarity, but if u know where to look, there are hints of them in the image. cheers!
