Eagle Nebula in colour

Hi all,

Here is a composite image of the Eagle Nebula in Sagittarius taken from two locations (Mersing and Desaru). Colour data was from Mersing, and luminance from Desaru. Total exposure about 4 hours.

Again, like the M31 core image posted, the quality is kept low to keep file size small. Please be patient with the bottle-neck bandwidth that geocities restrict. :roll:

Hi Remus,
Beautiful! You can see the famous Hubble's Pillars of Creation although I prefer to call it Buddha's palm (Ru lai shen zhan! ).
Pretty amazing you used the data from 2 sessions to create this composite and sitting there for 4 straight hours with nothing but mosquitoes and your ipod blaring away! Next time you train up the Mersing participants, so they can do the tracking duty for you...each one 10min..heh heh

I am still using manual guiding......can keep me awake through out the clear night sky.

I thought manual guiding is needed because the accuracy of tracking coupled with polar alignment may not be spot on and can show itself after a long period. So in order for autoguiding to work, some improvement in gear tolerance should have happened...I pesume this is the case here?
