Dancing Prominences

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Dancing Prominences

Post by mrngbss »

7th September 2007:

Weather was very clear, no clouds for 2 hrs, the longest period of clear sky in this year that I can remember. Took out my equipment and started imaging. Decided to do an animation of the change of prominence. The prominence shown could be 15 times the size of Earth. Each image was taken at about 5-10 min interval, at the same exposure settings.

Equipment:
- WO80FD
- CEMAX 2X Barlow
- SM40, BF10
- Skynyx 2-1M

Processed with Registax 4. File size about 1Mb.

Please excuse the inconsistent processing. I was more concerend with compiling the data into an animation. Colour and quality will be looked at in the near future.

Enjoy.
