Weather looks promising now and i will be having observation in Woodlands at this moment. Will be setting up at the hardcourt beside 888 Plaza (in front of Woodlands Primary School).

Phew, just finished unpacking everything and stuffing them into the dry box.
Here's a short report on the observation session. Norman (Norman Soh) , Kai Long (Razsky) and Father + 2 other friends joined the session , making a total of 6 people.
During the initial setup , the entire sky was covered in rain clouds in just a few minutes time (few minutes ago , it was clear skies). Nevertheless , i setup the C5 with Norman and hope for the best. It wasn't until when Razsky and gang reach when it starts to clear up small patches of the sky.
Auriga , Taurus, Orion and slowly Canis Major are all visible through openings in the clouds.
Gave the guys a first peek at Mars which was boiling at the time because of thin high clouds. After which M42 , M41 , Seven Sisters through the Binos. Gave them a brief run through on the constellations and alpha stars.
At around the same point , spotted Saturn rising through the sky and above horizon clouds. The gang were all awe by the view of Saturn through the scope, especially with the rings.
After which we chit chat awhile before calling it a night at 2am.
Thanks Norman and Razsky for the quick response on CSN Woodlands. Hope you guys have a fun and enriching night under the stars. Drop me an sms when you guys want to do it again. It is more than welcoming for you to bring your family members or friends who are interested.

My first educational tour of the skies
Yeah! At last! Thanks Sam!
Was walking home and prepared to call it a night when I received an unexpected sms from Sam. We (or rather, I) had been disappointed for many weeks (or was it months?) by cloudy skies and I had almost given up. So although rather tired, and it being past my bed-time (lol) I decided not to miss the opportunity. Hopped onto a feeder bus and I was there.
This was the first time that I had observed the night sky with any kind of telescope. It was a totally new experience for me. Appreciate all the education provided by Sam and Kai Long. The light sabre was cool too.
Saturn looks unique, but I couldn't spot its moons. Looking forward to seeing the moon next. When will the moon be available for sighting next, maybe can try to see it with my bino?

Then we have Weixing's Tampinese CSN in the East, and your Woodlands CSN in the North. Now if I can convince David Lian to reactivate the Western CSN and CC to spin up his Southern CSN, we will have Singapore covered!
Indeed seeing Saturn is perhaps the most rewarding sight for a newbie because it is so beautiful....
