For trekkies patiently awaiting those confounded writers to end their extremely long-drawn blockade so that work can continue on ST XI...here is a teaser shot...
you never know a pre-upgraded Constitution-class could look so good right?
From a link taken in the space.com messageboards...

Are the two "turbines" part of the ship?

oh no!! how could trekkies ask this??
If you will recall, the Constitution class Cruiser had a rotating rainbow light at the front of the warp nacelle. This picture shows what it looks like with the protection cover removed. The 2 warp turbines will generate a field that will warp space and propel the ship forward at war speeds...

Anyway, here is the full teaser version as released by JJ Abrams, director of Star Trek XI ....enjoy! Its due in Dec 2008, assuming the writers strike don't delay it further.

Heh.. I've never seen it with the protective cover removed! Anyway, the turbines make it look so... so mechanical.

won't be so fast. It needs to complete the first release phase followed by the cable tv release phase before it will be released for rental but worse, Star Trek is so off the beaten track in Singapore you have to hope the video rental companies will actually pick it up!

Tachyon...agree the video too low tech for a star ship, I mean, workers welding??? I would think they have robots doing that in the vacuum of space dock...As I recall, the Constitution class Enterprise was built at Utopia Yards.

Yeah....SGP is a bit slow at bringing in Sci Fi shows.
They didn't even screen Deep Space Nine and the new season for Battlestar Galactica. When I was in US, I had to rush back to the hotel room everynight just to catch the Sci-Fi channel.

Wonder why SCV don't have a Sci-Fi channel...whereby they show oldies like BSG, ST-TOS, Voyager, DS9, Buck Rogers, Taken, Space1999, Stargate Atlantis, etc...

Apparently, they are showing the new series of Flash Gordon now....
