screw threads - need help

Post by MooEy »

can someone help me confirm whether the screws on the side of the vixen half pier is 1/4-20? or would they be of something else?

also need to know wat are the screw threads for those tube rings. i have a screw which fits both my vixen style and also wo tube rings. they seem to be m6 x 1.0mm, can someone help me confirm this as well?

It is also 1/4-20. You can try the screw on the half-pier on the tube-ring.

Have a nice day.

Hmm... I always thought it use 1/4-20 thread as the thread gap look quite wide.

Anyway, If you got a camera, try the screw on the camera lor... can fit 1/4-20, cannot fit...6mm :P :P My Vixen tube-ring for R135 use only 1/4-20... the screw can fit my camera. My sky-watcher tube-ring use both... the bottom one (connect to mount) use 6mm thread and the top one (connect to camera one) use 1/4-20 since it going to mount the camera.

Have a nice day.

Vixen stuff can be confusing. Newer Vixen tube rings use M6 liao. My 232mm Vixen rings are all M6

oo, the camera trick did work. anyway, i had a pair of rings from orion, seems like they use 1/4"-20. confusing, confusing. look so similar yet so big diff.
