Hi,
The shipping cost is actually very very low. I go to FedEx website and key in a package weight 20lbs with a dimension of 50cm x 50cm x 50cm and value at US$500 to sent from US to Singapore and the cheapest shipping cost is already around US$230.

May be you should check with them first....

By the way, I move this topics from Astrophotography section to here.

Have a nice day.

Hi,
Not to pour cold water, but I think the shipping cost should be at least US$200 (remember, there is an EQ mount in the package and EQ mount are very heavy and bulky).

Anyway, do inform us the shipping cost after you check with them.

Have a nice day.

yeah man....just US$3 difference between priority and economy...really need to check those shipping rates again. more logical the rates are for surface mail?
also, US$600+ for a 130mm OTA , EQ Mount and shipping....?? wow!

Reply from the online retailer :

Thank you for your e-mail.  I'm not sure why you are seeing a discrepancy in shipping prices.  Our Fed Ex International Price for delivery to your
address is $89.42.  This is what you will be charged when your order is
processed.  Please let me know if there is anything else we can do for you.

----------------

So can I say the charges are accurate?

I suppose you just keep the email as proof that they confirmed it is $89.42, so if the goods come and the price of delivery is higher, you can show them the email.

Personally, I'm not too sure if it is really accurate though.. because the $3 discrepancy between priority and economy doesn't look very logical..
