Guys....

Where is the best dark place now to just drive there, take out equipment and observe straight away?

Dempsey used to be the one, but no more now.

Hi,
I think there one site near dempsey that is quite good... open space and surrounding is as dark as dempsey. Been there once with Elton and clement, but I don't know how to go there.

Have a nice day.

I went to the football field in Loewen Road described here.

East is blocked all the way up to approx 20 deg but South is good. My first time there was alone but the nearby pub had a Company D&D with a guest speaker on Feng Shui in 2008. So did learn something about the year of the Rat!

You can also go to Turf City NW field, 10m from parking location. Much darker than Loewen site. Also can start ob as early as 8.00pm, Loewen site has a driving range flood light problem before 11pm.

Has the mosquito problem gone away already?

The last we went there something in Jan was OK, but always burn a coil for precaution. The mozzie is more of an issue at the cricket field all the way to the end of the "dark" road. The NW field at the beginning of the "dark" road is much easier to access, nearer to Giant Hypermart carpark.
