Here is the place for the admins or moderators to do their annoucements. Or, if you have bought a new scope and want the whole world to know, do it here. Basically this is the place for any astro first-hand news.
Here is a summary of the A2008 Meeting held yesterday:
About 40 people turned up, all walks of life, ranging from students to working adults. Thanks to everyone who have come forward to graciously donate, and to volunteer their precious time for A2008. We have come up with the concept of the organising crew which will be known as 'A2008 Crew'. The A2008 Crew is comprised of the following sub-crews:
and so far, we have allocated all volunteers who turned up yesterday, to be in the above sub-crews (for some areas only). If you are keen to be in any of the above sub-crews and was not able to make it to the meeting yesterday, you may still do so via PM or SMS (into 82333798), or email remuscj at yahoo dot com.
The available sub-crews would be Logistics, Viewing Crew, Designers, Publicity, and one more place for Reception.
Important Note: Of particular need would be Logistics under the role of transport drivers. If you possess a car and is available on that day, and would not mind helping A2008 to transport telescopes from the owners' houses to the Singapore Art Museum (and back at the end of the day), please let us know. Also, if you are keen to mingle with the public and teach/educate them on what to see on the Sun/Moon/Planets, you may be keen to sign up for the Viewing Crew.
Note for foreign visitors:
All foreign subscribers in Singastro (or just about any other astronomy enthusiats from other countries) are welcomed to graze this full-day event (August 16, 2008, Saturday) at the Singapore Art Museum. Admission is free and starts from 10AM to 5PM. Please drop a PM, or email to remuscj at yahoo dot com, if you are keen to attend. Hope to see you too!
I will support and contribute to this event with a donation, and bring a scope too! I can only confirm the type of scope later, depending on my transport arrangement.

Hope to be able to get the super high resolution version from you (the one where you can zoom in an ID people). Will bring a thumbdrive along if its in tens of MB!
Anyway, will print and put up a copy on my office notice board..heh heh
