Post by tungkian »

sigh...anyone read the straits times today? they're developing jurong into jurong lake district or something like this...buttttt!!!!!!

they intend to move the sci ctr to the exisiting empty fields beside chinese garden mrt! this means that the relatively dark ob site in the west is GONE! GONE GONE GONE!!! maybe shld suggest to the sci ctr to make available a platform or some place, say their roof top or something like this, for astro ob...what do you think of this? maybe we can write in to science centre management and request...hmmm...

Yes, it is really dark, i saw my first Omega Centauri with a 4" scope...a nice cotton ball :).
If you ob in a group...it is not so scary. I was there once alone...not a good idea.

Not sure LCK Lane 1A still around, I think they use it for granite stones storage, so, OOB [smilie=sigh.gif]

We can still observe planets without much issue. I stay besides Chinese Garden and on good nights, the seeing here is good enough for observing Saturn at 345x.

For deep sky objects, we can head to Turf City instead of LCK Lane 1a.

Good for those who drive especially after 9.30pm, after that no more free shutter bus.
