Greetings from sunny Costa Rica

Post by RichardBlank »

After reading a few threads, I wanted to introduce myself to this community. I look forward to sharing ideas with other forum members on how to enjoy the night sky. My personal favorite is to leave the city, sit on the beach and enjoy the brightest stars. Without light pollution, it becomes very easy to identify everything.

Best regards,

Richard

Hi fellow Richard,
Welcome to Singastro! Singapore is about 50km across and practicallt built up everywhere so the notion of a nice dark clear sky is quite impossible. Nonetheless, we do travel up North to Malaysia in search of that elusive dark sky..

Hi,
Welcome to SingAstro!!
Without light pollution, it becomes very easy to identify everything.
I thought it become more difficult to identify as all stars look so bright and there are so many of them... ha ha ha

Anyway, do share with us your experience and idea for enjoying the night sky.

Have a nice day.

Airconvent and weixing .

Thank you for your replies and warm welcomes.

Actually, the best night for me was when I was in the Arizona desert right outside of Tucson. Secondly, I visited a location near the University that had a huge telescope. Forgive me for not remembering the name, but that was quite an experience as well.

As we look up towards the heavens, it is a good time to reflect and dream about the endless possibilities that are available. The fact that there is so much more to explore and learn, makes every night an adventure.

Thanks guys.

I am sure you were as excited as I when Phoenix landed.

Amazing, and just the start...
