$25 binoculars at Carrefour

Post by chrisyeo »

For those who don't know, Carrefour is having a sale on their binoculars.

Personally, I have no complaints with their binos and have had great times observing with them.

Great to have pair that you can bring for trips without worries, to throw in your bag or boot, or to just give away. At this price, no reason for newbies not to own a pair of binos.

Cheers,
Chris

Yup, it's very good for general use. No complaints.

Should be available at all Carrefour outlets. Got mine from Suntec.

I was at Carrefour Suntec today. The 7x50 binos, which I have briefly written about in another thread,

http://www.singastro.org/viewtopic.php? ... ht=bluesky

were selling for the normal price of $39.90. I did not see any sign (!) of a special price. The binos at Suntec Carrefour are located between the refrigerators and the printers. I have also seen them at their Plaza Singapura branch.

Though the 7x50s are quite good binos, the one which I had a look at today (took one out of a box) had a single white dot (paint?) on the inside of one of the front objectives. It was also miscollimated. So, if you are intending to get one, do remember to perform a good visual QC check of your own. For the price though, they are quite good value.

Did you ask the salespeople? I remember seeing a whole shelf. And it's located it quite an indiscreet corner.
