Overnight @ ECP - 5th July 2008

Post by zong »

Hi everyone, NUS Astronomical Society is organising an overnight observation trip to ECP area between carparks C4 and D1, next Saturday 5th July 2008. We will be there about 8+ or 9. Please do join us :)

For the newbies coming and not know where the area is, you can first go to the MacDonald's at East Coast Park. For those driving, the carpark nearer to the grounds is carpark D1.

I think I'll join you guys since it's a Saturday. I'm pretty excited about it, especially when I do not have any equipment myself. I'm hoping to try out different kinds of binocs during this session, such as the 8x40, 7x50 and 10x50 ones with multi coating. It'll help me decide which to get. (:

Hi, welcome to Singapore then! And welcome to Singastro :)

I've not been to HK so I'm not sure of the differences, but usually we need ground sheet and possibly sweater over the night (cold and windy). I usually tell people to wear long pants at least, but some people don't and are fine with the cold. And of course, a telescope if you have one here!

Precautions, there shouldn't be any because we'll still be quite near to civilisation. Even the toilet is only less than 200m away.

Hope to see you there this Saturday :) If you need directions, you can give me a call once you reach East Coast Park.
