saw through a couple of first generation ones back in the late 1990s. Back then, the price of six including the very nice walnut box was priced at USD$1050 and could only be purchased from Astrophysics. There was about 1-2 year wait then. During then, this price was already hitting the roof, but still people bought them, and similar to Tachyon's sentiments, are for collections, such as Questars, Brandons, Zeiss and Clark telescopes. My dealer prices for these eyepieces don look too good!

The price is madness... I wonder who dares to use them especially with the short eye relief. However, I would think that these eyepieces are world best, having used some Zeiss optics..they are that good, no doubt about Zeiss reputation and optics.
