We saw your parents there yesterday and helped them take some photos too.
They are nice people....A pity you could not join us !
Thank you so much for helping them. They also said people they found there are really friendly.
I'm dying to fly S'pore for Astronomy 2008 event but can't make it due to some difficulties

Clear Skies!

hey everyone!
have uploaded some of the pictures i've taken (albeit in a very quick and rough manner, pardon!) during the event here. Thanks to Richard, Kelvin, and many others for sharing the event pictures with the rest of us!
it was a definite memorable event for all of us, and i think for the veterans, even more so, not just in terms of astronomy content, but the opportunity to meet up with friends that we have not seen for a long time, and catching up with them subsequently. Was good to have people like Cindy, Phylliss, Chung Hooi, Hon Pui, Michaels, Gary, (and many more!) coming back to support the event, some not seeing them for the past decade! since then, astronomy has really come a long way. people come and go, but hopefully all of them had an enlightening experience in astronomy. i would also like to take this time to mention a few people who has helped to make this event a success (and in no way it is going to be comprehensive but i try to, and the Crew remembers)... Mr Au, for allowing us the opportunity to give him the Life Achievement Award, Zong Yao, for helping tirelessly (and without a single complaint or grunt) in the logistics area, and even extending his role intermittently, Hong Yuan for seeing to the reception and the gallery, Anne for helping out in the gallery design and drafting, Ming Yang for a splendid Lucky Draw give-out (and hilarious!), Wei-Lin for a wonderful job on coordinating and announcing the various activities ongoing, Terry for going the extra mile in transportation and facilitation of the numerous (and heavy) Display Panels and miscellaneous bulk items, Vincent, Qi Hui for contributing their laptops for the electronic displays, Slyvanus and Sam and ensuring the proper layout and alignments of the Gallery works, Wee Kiong for the professional-like pamphlet printings and solar scope setups, Meng Lee for coordinating the Solar Gazing and ensuring the Observing Crew's competency, Carole for publicity and support, Dr Chan for giving a very insightful talk, Andrew for a "memorably" "action-packed" funny eclipse account (cannot stop laughing), Fung Ling for transporting all my three systems in a single vehicle!, Vincent for helping out in the security and walkie-talkies, Yong Kuan for covering the event photographically, YK CHia for the blazing meteors talk plus amazing video footages, Jiayuan for assisting and helping in the sound/visual presentation aspects, and all the donators who have come forward with their support for making this event possible. i really hope i did not miss anyone out!! And also the various image contributors! All the telescope and binoculars contributors! Jeremy Shears you too! for your CG Draconis and HR Lyrae research work! And oh, even though we did not get to personally meet and talk, to those who have come and went, a big thank you for coming. The Crew has tried to make the event purposeful and enlightening not just for the students, but also the older SINGASTRO folks, the novice, the veterans, and all in between!![cheer [smilie=cheer.gif]](./images/smilies/cheer.gif)
