M22 Globular Cluster from Singapore!

Post by rcj »

Hi,

This image was taken a few days before the Punggai trip, from my balcony. Had to take more sub-frames to "conquer" (reduce) the light pollution effects. It is of very bright globular cluster in Sagittarius, called M22, which is located above the "teapot" asterism.

meh... our eyes don't even come close to cameras, but to witness the glory of the heavens first hand, it's more than enough.

Hello Remus,

this image is a corker. Highly impressive. It's my favourite Messier globular too! I've just been reviewing your other images: it looks like you have had some great imaging time lately.

Go well!

Whoa, awesome. Btw Remus, any chance you'll take some images of M35 open cluster that is located in Gemini? The skies were clear last night, so I actually looked out of the windows at around 4am+ from my 18th floor apartment and saw tons of stars with my naked eyes. Was able to identify M35 easily as well, and Auriga constellation was visible too. I hoped tonight would be as good after the heavy rain, but it's still bad.

M35 is really beautiful when viewed through my binoculars, and I figured maybe you could take some images of it in future when there's a chance. (:
