yeah man...I had to strain my eyes to make it out...and that is after I removed by glare filter too!

Time to change your monitor or video card. Only @ 1280 x 800 can see it clearly, not at full brightness. Or may be you guys are getting long sighted. hahaha

Sharp eyes clifford :) ....
at this magnification, it is probably a intergalactic meteor that may cause the fine line of light....
i remember seeing a meteor on my views of m42

yeah, actually it could in reality be a meteor instead. the line is quite fine too.
