Hi all, yes it's Orion nebula season again, and this my 3rd year in shooting it. Armed with faster imaging system ( 8" f/4.5 newt ) this time round, I was finally able to acquire all 3 narrowband images in a single imaging session. On this night, the sky was cooperating, allowed me to collect a fair bit of colour data as well. All the images were taken with my modified Canon 350D, with ISO800 at various exposures.
Here is the nebula in normal colour, but I blend it with Halpha as luminance data to improve the s/n ratio.
And here, in different guise we are not too accustom with. Employing Hubble Pallet, SII is mapped Red, Halpha to Green & OIII to Blue.
