Japanese Okonomiyaki Restaurant "SUMOMO"

Post by Zephyrus »

Hey to all fellow Singastro members! For the first time I've decided to talk about food, which all Singaporeans love, haha. Recently just went to this newly opened Japanese restaurant opposite Paradiz Centre last week. Speciality is their Okonomiyaki, which you can cook on the hotplate, or what they called teppan. You can cook them yourself, and it's very delicious.

They also have very tasty Japanese sake and beer to go along with your meal. The sake has very low alcohol content, is very smooth and has a very unique taste. Can't find the sake anywhere else except their restaurant, or at least I haven't seen them at any other Japanese restaurant I go to. They do sell sushis, but the menu for sushis is pretty limited since Okonomiyaki is the main attraction.

The place is located at 44A Prinsep Street, opposite Paradiz Centre/Parklane. Within walkable distance from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, and is very near Cathay. Scanned the namecard:

Forgot to add, there's also full-vegetarian okonomiyaki for vegetarians. (:

Hahaha, well I'm 18 this year. xD

Hey zackae, nah it's not a buffet. It's a newly opened restaurant and it's not going the buffet style (at least for now I think). By the way, the name of the hot wine (25% alcohol) is Sho Chu, well, translated to hot wine. There's 2 kinds, one is potato and the other is barley. There are a few other pretty good drinks there too, a lil bit alcohol content, yet smooth and great in taste like the Chu-Hi that has Grape/Peach flavor with 4% alcohol and tastes like soft drink.

Cooking the Okonomiyaki on the hotplate is fun, haha! ^_^
