Last call : Interested parties for 16th April Batam trip

Post by harlequin2902 »

Hi all,

(with reference to post #1 on http://www.singastro.org/viewtopic.php?t=749)

We can still take another 2 or 3 people for the trip as we have decided to hire a mini-bus to drive us around on the island instead of a car this time. There are already 4 confirmed members going.

Registration :
Interested parties are to contact/sms Richard Low at 96902100 with the following information : full name as on passport, passport number, date of birth and passport expiry date. Places will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Closing time for the registration is 12 noon tomorrow (14/4).

Trip expenses :
All costs will be split evenly, so the estimated trip expenses will be between S$60 - S$70 per person (for 2 way ferry ticket, transport/fuel, provisions, dinner).

Departure / Return :
We will be meeting at the Food Junction foodcourt at Harbour Front Center (formerly World Trade Center) around 3pm on Friday (16/4) and will be back in Singapore on Saturday (17/4) morning.

Thank you.

Hi,
I have created a map with coordinate to estimate the coordinate of the observation site in Batam without the use of GPS.

Have a nice day.

Hi

Nice map that has been created, though the highway is not indicated. Perhaps Weixing can print out and bring along, especially if a more detailed and updated map can be created.

Incidentally, I have noted the geographical coordinates for four observation sites from the website recommended in a earlier post; this is needed for those using goto mounts.

By the way, does anyone know how to convert distance in km (on a map) to longitude/latitude?

Have a nice day,
rlow

hi weixing,
would have been better if you had rotated the map 90 deg clockwise....
can't join you all but have a nice trip and take lots of pictures.
