NGC3603 and NGC3576 HA and colour (updated!)

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

NGC3603 and NGC3576 HA and colour (updated!)

Post by rcj »

Hi all,

This is a brand new image just bagged minutes ago. Never took this b4 as well, and it looks quite interesting, with two nebulae optically close together but is actually spatially far apart in space. Discovered by Herscell in the 1800s and comprises of NGC3630 (left) and NGC3576 (right) with some Bok globules in NGC3576. This is located "to the left" of Eta Carinae in the Singapore/Malaysia perspective.

HA only: 3x20 minutes (Pentax 75SDHF)

Bag colour components soon!

cranium?????

[smilie=confused.gif]

it's clear now, waiting for sun to set, and continue to grab colour data....

somehow ngc3576 looks somewhat like a snail, or a ferris wheel, or some strange insect....nevertheless it seems rather under-rated, when it is just in the vicinity of Eta Carinae.

As for the acquisition, guiding is not too good nowadays, optocoupler breaking down in one direction, donno why, maybe it is a continuity issue. Still not working, so nowadays I cannot do a calibration as once it is done, the previous vector calibration elements would be lost. For now I can only shoot objects within the same declination as eta carinae....this object for one.

Yeah, swat_pup, looking forward to you guys coming!

That's a cracking one for detail, Remus. The more I look, the more I see!

Go well!
