NGC3372 Fresh data

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

NGC3372 Fresh data

Post by rcj »

Hi,

Been wanting to obtain back the lost HA data from Eta Carinae (due to previous HD crash). So here is the mosaic, also taken with the same scope, Pentax 75, and solely from the heart of Melbourne. Had been terrible with seeing and optocoupler was not working well throughout. Nevertheless, this is the best that can be done from the city location. Dark skies opportunities have been a waste recently due to entire night of overcast skies even with the summer weather.

Here is the 8-panel HA mosaic from Melbourne:

Just for an interesting comparison, here is the same attempt the very last time (also with the same scope and camera) but taken from Singapore. A pity I don't have the raw data anymore, otherwise I could consolidate both data sets.

Seriously, a mosaic really transcends FOV limitations due to sensor size.
