Last night, the sky was very clear for Singapore's standard. The constellations of Lupus, Centaurus, Crux, Sagittarius, Scorpius, Orphiucus etc were easy to see and their main stars easily visible. I could see Mag 5.4 stars and probably can see a bit deeper. The Milky Way portion at Sagittarius and Scorpius was visible too. I think this is one of the best skies I have seen in Singapore.
Who did observing?
I took out my small 88mm refractor and did some casual widefield visual observing of my favourite objects like Omega, M22, M6, M7, NGC5617, Jewel Box, Coal Sack, 6231, 6281 6286 etc. And others..
Through the refractor paired with my Nagler 17T4 (2.8 degree TFOV, 29X) and 11T6 (1.8 degree TFOV, 45x), the stars were sharp and pinpoint. The star clusters were pretty and the globs were nice 'balls' with some stars resolved.
One of the most transparent skies in Singapore..

I was observing too! Yes, it was indeed very clear, just as it was a few nights ago. Unusually clear for Singapore.
I was observing and imaging from 10pm till 4am. Crazy, but i thought that it was such a rare night (and a Fri too) that I ought not to waste it.
Imaged the southern objects such as Omega Centauri, Eta Carinae, etc. Plus ngc6231, M22 globular, Lagoon nebula, Swan, etc. Before finally knocking off, I gazed at the Vega area at about 30 degrees up for about 10 mins hoping to catch some early Lyrids but didn't see any. So sleepy by then.
Yes, the stars were sharp pinpoints through my WO80mm 10th anniversary Zenithstar and a 14mm XL. I think that scope is better than I initially thought, and the view of stars through a refractor is really nice.
