Messier 3

Post by cataclysm »

Took this a couple of nights ago with my 8'' Newtonian and Meade DSI III pro. The sky transparency was poor and I was also dodging clouds through out the whole imaging sesion. In the end, only managed to capture some luminence data (2x60s, 6x150s).

very nice. I like your spot on focusing and guiding. The stars are very sharp and round.

What kind of guiding you are using?

Hi Perseid, yes, by employing a Bahtinov mask, its very easy to achieve precise focusing.

PHD guiding, its the best imo, and is free also. Guide scope is mini Borg 50mm achro and the guiding camera is DSI pro mono. :)

M3 was never my target of interest but you took one good image of it, Kelvin! [smilie=angel.gif]

Nice image, Kelvin! Good granular texture.

Hmmm... I think I shall try to make a Bahtinov mask. Never heard of it before. Tks for the tip.

Would like to see your set-up one day!
