Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

SD-1 - faulty power-on indicator

Post by Debash »

Hi all:

I have a new Vixen SD-1 single axis drive corrector, but its power-on indicator is "red" all the time once the controller is switched on, even when I use fresh batteries (using 6 type C, 1.2V NiMH (2200 mAh) batteries, the power range for SD-1 is 6.5V to 12V). Does it mean (as I suspect) it's a faulty indicator, or is it supposed to be like that? If it's faulty, then would you have any idea where I can get it fixed?

I know that DD-1's indicator is "green" with fresh batteries and turns "red" when the battery is flat.

Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers

Hi,
Does the DEC or RA move forward or reverse when you press the 16x forward or 16x reverse... If yes, then you try to use until the battery going to flat to see whether the LED colour change.

May be the SD-1 LED indicator is different from the DD-1. Anyway, I prefer the battery indicator to be red/orange when battery is full and green when the battery is flat.

Have a nice day.

Hi Weixing, the motor seems to be ok, 16x forward, backward, 2x is also working fine. Battery runs for about 4 hours of continuous movement before going flat - but the indicator light doesn't turn green, it's always red.
