Yes, SG only get partial.
The significant about this one is maybe it crosses some major cities like Shanghai, unlike the previous ones only passes ulu places.

The significance is also that (unless my memory is so bad) this is the longest Total Solar Eclipse of the century. Ok, we could always argue that the difference of about 1min is not much.. haha..

Exactly! The next cheap and comfortable opportunities to see solar eclipses will be 2017 (US) and 2026 (Spain).

It's the longest eclipse of the 21st century. 6 min 39 sec (tho that's somewhere in the Pacific Ocean or near Ryukyu Islands).
But Shanghai will get like 5 minutes of darkness.

If you don't have Channel U, you can see it "live" and free on Sunstopper.sg (
http://sunstopper.sg ).
They start live feed at 08:50am from Yangshan Island off SHanghai.
Good for those in office (like me) with internet access but no TV. (and cannot take leave.
They also have a version that's live, free and Hi-DEF. So they say here:

Hope this helps.

Will we be able to see the shadow at all from Singapore? Even if just a small hint of the moon? What time will it be in SG?
