Hi,Sivakis
You can try seeing the shower at 8pm-no harm but at 2pm afterward we will enter the stream of "stones"that cause the shower and you will see brighter and more meteor. No one can predict whats the best time and thats the fun part of meteor watching.Sometimes even before the main event,a fireball strike and it makes the wait worthwhile.Anyway of all the meteor shower I like perseid best because experiences tell me that its meteor are generally bright and consistent in direction.Lets pray for a cloudless night tonight--enjoy the show. do you mean 2am onwards? Only realised today the perseids are here, I'm a bad astronomer. What's the expected window for viewing? Tonight and early morning hours last chance? I usually go to bed at 2am...try not to go at 3am :P

whoa..is that you Cindy? welcome back to Earth!.... [smilie=cute.gif]
BTW, after so many years, I have gone to conclude on the special comet law that states that ..

if you are in Singapore and if this is a period of an expected strong meteor shower, then with 100% certainty cloud cover will also be 100%. sigh...

Actually the cloud cover isn't too bad tonight. Some stray clouds, but it's pretty windy, so they blow over fast, or, at least it did between 8.30pm-10pm at Bedok Reservoir.

Caught nothing though, so wishing you all better luck! :)

Aircon: Just dropped in to see if anything on perseids. Surprised not much said.

Haha I went to have a look around 11pm. Looked North East and major cloud cover. Rest of sky..mostly uncovered. Murphy's law strikes again? Bit coughy so will not be staying up.

Hi,all meteor chaser
Visually yesterday night was no show.Only see one south of the zenith heading from west to east and so dont think its a perseid.Concentrated watching from 00hrs to 4am but visually catch nothing. Also try photo tech but takes days of careful review to encertain.Fast moving cloud and red sky glow come back after 4am and so give up.Normally Perseid will show at least a few between 5-6;30am.Any one got the luck? Thanks

** sorry for the typo - missing an 's' ** rectified Thanks Weixing for the prompt inputs
