Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Celestron to Introduce a Dall-Kirkham Cassegrain Scope

Post by Airconvent »

Seems Celestron is poised to introduce a perfect imaging scope based on the excellent Dall-Kirham design but without the associated coma problems, presumably because its a slower F6.8
The scope has a large central obstruction of 39% and weighs more than me (270kg in total) !
Something Remus or Vincent would love...once they learn to move the scope without breaking their arms..

hmmmm ...... the total weight is 270lbs or 122kg, split up it would be 130lbs or 58kg for the OTA and 140lb or 63kg for the mount ;).

It will not break anyone's arm, but it will definitely break their back ;)

I'd like to see them get this thru M'sian customs enroute to Mersing! I wonder what they would declare it as and the value of it for tax purposes.

e.g. "I am actually a garang-guni man and this is scrap metal." :D
