Dear yK,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your report and seeing your images posted – great result. Seems you are all having a real show over there in Singapore.

Go well!

Not at this point of time, at least not in Singapore, because it is still very low near the horizon and the light pollution is very intensive over the horizon. Maybe during Mid may, you can try again.

It is currently at magnitude 4.1, but as Sam has mentioned, it is hindered by horizon light pollution and thin clouds (if present). However, it should get brighter and brighter and time goes by and as it gets nearer to our Sun. You can try finding it with a pair of binoculars for a start.

Taking advantage of the clear skies, I just caught T7 from my house.

At around 6am, I found Pisces in my binoculars for the first time. Put my viewfinder on the bottom star of the asterism, and moved downwards. Roughly where starry night said where it is, I could see a somewhat cloudy star. Looking through my eyepiece, I jumped with delight. It was indeed T7, with a cluster of three stars nearby confirming the position on my printout. It was a diffuse globular like object, but with a bright central core. Interestingly, about a minute after I started looking at T7, I noticed a very faint object travelling from east to west in my eyepiece view. I thought I was seeing things at first but I tracked it for 3 eyepiece fovs. Must be a small satellite that happened to pass by T7 at about 6.

Hope to catch more of comet Linear in the coming weeks!

Clear skies! (wah, but days very hot ah..?),

Hi folks:

April 27 5:45am T7 Linear was even brighter this morning throught the in 7x50 I wasted no time to carry the C8/video set up... plugged in the powers - x1 for the electronic finder, x1 for mintron ,x1 for tiny b/wmonitor... A short tail was visible in the electronic finder. Through the main scope @f3.3 the comet appeared like a very bright star ( minus the twinkling). An extended faint spray ( tail portion) was detected at one o'clock position.

Dawn was arriving fast ... I let the video walkman recording on, repeating the 'stop recording -re-adjust FOV- restart recording' process. (C8 is not tracking - on a fixed tripod) This time there were two bright stars in FOV - useful for post frame alignment. To finish off for the 'day' put the cover on and recorded some dark frames.

After a quick change - i headed for work -1 1/2 hours early!
