We went for an overnight observation last Saturday 17 Oct 09 at Sedili Besar, and one of our objective was to observe meteors, and if possible the Orionids. I was busy with the 11" dob, and I only saw 4 meteors in our observing hours from 7.30pm to 2am, including a long bright meteor with an outstanding train. Another 2 observers spotted about 7 meteors each. Siti saw 33 meteors.

Hi folks, I just emailed the organizers for the obs. The obs is no longer conducted at the changi beaches. It is now named Galilean nights, held at marina barrage, there will be viewing of the jupiter via the telescope and meteor observations held concurrently.fizzy123 wrote:Due to my new work commitments, I doubt I can make it next friday for the ECP obs. However, I saw on this astronomy.SG that on the 2 weeks from now, marine parade astro is organizing an Orionids session at changi beaches on 24/10. I maybe joining them for this obs session. Changi beach gives good access to views in the northern skies.
