Most USA site will be selling Celestron C9 1/4 at about that price you are mentioning..... take for example :

http://www.binoculars.com/php/brandcat. ... Telescopes

It is not they are selling it cheap, it is the Sci Centre shop selling it expensive ;)

We could get it from some other local importer, not necassary Celestron or Meade, there are other good brands too.

Samuel, for example, has a big array of Scopes and Finderscope and other accessories.

You can call him at 93621186...he's quite helpful. he sells a wide variety of scopes including the favourite Mak 127mm but not Celestron...
btw, what website were you referring to?
I don't see any link on your initial post.
Celestron has a "fixed" price policy and most retailers in the US will sell at that price. Of course there will always be those "sim lim square" types that sells slightly lower, maybe US$50 cheaper and also willing to sell outside of the US (against Celestron's rule)...you just need to search for them....beware the shipping cost is a bomb!

Hi,
You can access Sam's website at www.harlequinastronomics.com
Actually you should be able to get it from the vendors' forum...you just need to look around.
One way to lower the high shipping cost is to send by surface mail....takes forever, but should be slightly cheaper.

Surface mail?? ..... might be chaper... but besides taking forever, you scope might also come in two peices or maybe more...... Actually I find USPS global EMS prices quite ok.. smaller stuff like star pointer will not charge too much.. but most of the vendors do not send via USPS..
